Dr. Mupp Chairman Department of Biology The principle aim of the Biology Department is to acquaint the students with the import- ant facts and principles of biology which, it is hoped, will give him intimate knowledge of and an integrated view of the whole Field. With this in mind, ct strong eFfort is made to pregent the student with the accumulated knowledge of the past and to prepare him for the understanding of, and participation in, the future expansion of knowledge in the field of biology. In cooperation with other science departments, preprofessional sequences are offered for students who wish to enter such fields as medicine, dentistry, professional biology, medical technology, teaching, pharmacy and others. The only point at which the Chemistry Department differs in this regard from any other department in the College is that we attempt to do this through the medium or the discipline which we coH chemistry, while in other departments this is done through different media.
