TOR COOPER Senator John Sherman Cooper paid tribute to Morehead State College for advancing the physical grovvth of the college and for the insistence of high standards and quality education. I had the pleasure of voting for college loan legislation and assisting Morehead. Under the leadership of Dr. Doran, federal loans tot- aling 32,500,000 have been made available for dormitories for the men and women of Morehead State College. -JV I !' . SOCCER Morehead entered the first annual soccer tournament in Kentucky col- lege history with an unexperienced team, and defeated Louisville, a team that has been organized for several years. The final match of the tournament was with Berea and the Eagles were defeated 5-1. M.S.C. received a runner-up tro- phy and was presented the Universi- ty of Louisville flag in a ceremony similar to the one prior to the Olym- pic soccer matches. These talent- ed students went to Marshall Col- lege in Huntington and carried away laurels in that field by winning the Four M Debate Contest. These debaters have traveled ap- proximately 3000 miles during the year and have participated in six different tournaments.
