Ckegional Occupational Centerj enables students to classes outside of Moreau and get hands on experience trade they may want to pursue in the future. R.O.C. ides vocational training for those who want to start -k right after graduation or to gain knowledge or exper- Ee in an area of interest. There are about ten juniors and tors involved in R.O.C. These students keep two sched- i one for Moreau and one for R.O.C. They attend three ods a day at Moreau either in the morning or afternoon. They are required to take all courses needed to graduate from Moreau and any additional courses needed by the col- lege they wish to attend after graduation. The most popular R.O.C. programs seem to be welding, auto mechanics, voca- tional nursing, fashion design, sports. medicine and cosme- tology. There are also many other programs to choose from. The students involved have to work hard. but seem to be doing a fine job. 33

Close Up: A program for high school sophomores, juniors. and seniors, allows students to spend a week in Washington D.C. This program gives students the opportunity to achieve a deeper understanding of their government through guest speakers, group discussions, and tours of Washington. This year I3 Moreau students, all seniors, and their supervi- sor, Mr. Kossick, participated in this program. They left for Washington on Sunday, February IG, and returned the follow- ing Saturday.
