4 'A 986 Just Wait 'Til Next Year! The l986 Powder Puff game proved to be extremely intense as the Junior Sting. backed by head coaches Tim Slone and Steve Libby, gained the respect of the over-rated Seniors, and disproved the out-dated idea of total Senior dominance at Moreau. Team unity, high spirits, and determination were key aspects in the Juniors awesome performance! Their offense worked hard against a tough Senior defense, and skillfully broke through for 5 touchdowns. but 4 were drawn back on penalty calls. The Sting defense limited the Express offense to one touchdown and the point after. Thereafter, the Seniors never reached sight of the endzone again. Although the final score read 8 to 6 in favor of the Senior Express. the Juniors demonstrated true dignity and accepted the loss of a deserved victory. As the Junior Sting commended the Seniors of their fine perfor- mance, they held their attitudes of pride for a excellently executed game for what they knew was their win, and most importantly for surprising the Seniors and Moreau - against all odds. Great performances were given by Lisa Alves. Carrie Berlogar, Nanci Quinones, Annie Loggins, Teri Peyton, Lucy Sison, all the coaches. and especially by Chris Roberts for her touchdown charge. -special thanks to Belinda Ordinana for writing this article.
