Swingin Into The l986 GirI's Softball team is a team with a futurel Team captain. Michelle Schwenger. is setting quite an example for her team members to follow this year. Re- turning players from last year's NCS team are Chrissy Freitas, Mary Miller, Joelle Valle, Danette Louis and Dag- ney Haman. These girls have the responsibility of setting the right examples for the new, younger players. The team is very young but has a great deal of potential, ., of-yn Q- . Q gran-Q , l. The Moreau Mariner Junior Varsity Softball Team. coached by Hank Lorta, is an enthusiastic group of girls with big dreams and high expectations. The team start- ed practice in mid-February despite the terrible '86 rain- storms, and opened play later that same month. Playing at Patrick Gomer Field in Hayward, the team learned that softball is a very grueling sport that takes many hours of practice after school and on weekends. This does not dampen the team's spirit, however, as they are proud to represent Moreau in this way. lj. Jenny Norton demonstrates a very strange way to catch a ball in her glove. IJ.
