Following a terrific season last year, the girls' track team, as a whole, hopes for a Catholic Athletic League Title this year. For the individual athletes, the main goal is to do well enough to make it to the State Meet. Last year the boys' 440 relay team consisting of Joe Farrish, Brian Henderson, Jeff Chimienti and Dan Osanna, and shotputter Jennifer Watson had the opportunity and ex- perience of competing there. This year the team will be looking for the Guesnon Gang, Lisa Severini, Laurie Hollingsworth and Chris Villa- luz to lead the sprints and hurdles. Krista Rendon, Carrie O'Connor. Kelly Homa and Molly Woelffer are expected to bring the team through the distance events. Compil- ing the points in the field events are Joanne Cordova, Shell Loggi Th are e and Cusse Chris Martin, Andy Botsford, Jennifer Watson. and the s sisters. ' re are also many newcomers whose contributions pected to be great assets to the team. Sprinters urdlers to look for are Anna Atayde, Curshanda ax, Tamica Lee, Melinda Szto, Michelle Field and Roberts. A few of the jumpers are Laina Chikhani and Rachelle Jones. Pacing the list of new distance run- ners Iey. girls' veter fresh re Kerry Dougery, Vicki Templeton, and Amy Bai- eam leader Krista Rendon feels that this year's team will be very strong. In addition to the older ns, there are many outstanding sophomores and en whose talents will help our team to advance. I. Brenda Loggins gives it everything she's got as Mike Polk whispers directions from behind. 2. Michelle Britto prepares herself for a breathtaking race as Judy Abreu holds the blocks for her. 3. While following through on her super put, junior Annie Loggins watches for the landing. 4. Sophomore Carrie O'Connor leads the pack as senior Molly Woelffer is right on her heels. 5. What goes up must come down as Pinky Devera will soon find out. 6. Andy Botsford heads for the sand in a winning attempt at lst place. 7. Annie Loggins just can't get enough of competition, so she helps measure when not throw- ing. 5
