A Building Year. Wrestling is a tough sport that often results in many injuries, but injuries didn't keep the dedicated Moreau wrestlers away from the possibility of victory every time they hit the mat. This is a first time experience for the four freshmen and seven sophomores who compose a major part of Moreau's Junior Varsity wrestling team. Of the wrestlers returning to face the challenge of another gruelling year are junior Bobby Rios and sophomore Rinaldo Jose. Qi V 1 l. The JV wrestlers are: Cfrontj Rat Llamas. Greg Fisher. Bob Rios. Chuck Robell Gonsales. and Coach Chet Dickson. 2. The phenomonal wrestling stats are: fba Kelly Andrews. Cfrontj Becky Spencer. Maria Finkes. Kim Magadia, and Monica Coach Dickson mentions. This has been a building for the JV team. For wrestlers such as Milo Kuo year and Tony Loudani who placed second in the Central Conf who rence Novice Tourament, and junior Bobby Rios laced second in the Newark Memorial Tournament. Coach Dickson's words definitely apply. Varsity hopefuls for next year's season include Bobby Rios, Rocco Montalvo, Rinaldo Jose. Chris Wenzler, Kurt Hudson, and Brett Espizita. Facing The hallenge! The I986 Boys Varsity Track Team is led this year by Head Coach Phil Wilder and seven assistant coaches who give a great deal of time and support to the team. Each one of the coaches lead a specific event. Phil Wilder is in charge of the distance runners while Matt O'Brien coaches the sprinters and Joe Martin coaches hurdles. Coaches for the field events include Todd Anderson Cshot put and discusj, Mike Ferguson Cpole vaultj, Darrin Wright Clong and triple jumpl and Saun- dra Keister Chigh jumpj. Coach Wilder's philosophy is Everyone should be encouraged to work to the best of their ability within the team concept, at the same time indivi mete This ual improvement is a priority. Last year the 4m relay team qualified for the State Track Meet. year the team hopes to go back to the State Meet in mo. e than just one event.
