MORA HIGH SCHOOL MORA MimESOTA TABLE OF CONTENTS Dedication to Mara Larson Senior High Dedication to Jason Stewart Groups and Activities Junior High Dedication to Eric DeFlorin Faculty More Candids Awards Graduation Ads A friend and a smile Could always be found in you. You loved everyone around. We never knew what the Lord would do. For if we had any idea at all That someday you 'd be gone. We d want to team from you flow to make this world better to carry on. You ve touched our hearts and our lives. And gave of yourself without a question. You were always there to help out With all of your creative and crazy suggestions. The memories we share now Seem all too few. But at least we have our memories. Wonderful memories of you. Your enthusiasm excited us all. It gave us a different outlook on life. Your sense of style and character Shouldn't have had to suffer strife. But we know what you stood for. You let everyone know. God was Lord of your life, he wanted you, now, we must let go. God had a lease on your life You were only ours to borrow, he showed that life is too precious To live like there's a tomorrow. Thank you so much for being my friend. We love you so much we re in pain. We know that you re in heaven now, And Jesus is calling your name. 3 As editors of this year's yearbook we feel we had an exceptional staff with two great advisors. Right guys?____well ... anyhow, two things that have given the yearbook a little more pizzazz were the color tip-in and looking forward to those monthly meetings with a Mr. James Cashman. The staff had a variety of junior and senior high students. Getting to those meetings at 7:15 a.m. was no easy task, nothing like being grumpy, right Erin? Then came our advisors, what a couple of clowns. First, our dearest Mrs. Martens. We didn't know what to expect from her because she was the new kid on the block, but she turned out to be O.K. The best way to explain this past marching season is MOT If Tor the first time in years, the band marched in four parades that were nearly 100° at parade time, folcy and Duluth were much cooler and more enjoyable. This year's Drum Majorette. Senior • Wendy Brown, did an excellent job. Many of the older students Knew that our main concern was that the majority of the block band were this year's 9th and 10th graders. It was a good season and in the next two years. Mora should have an excellent Marching Band. Leaders that should be mentioned are: flag Captain — Mavinne Anderson. Drum Majorette — Wendy Brown, and Percussionist — Kurt Mallstrom. These students had a great deal of responsibility and handled it in a positive way. Thanks for a good season and looking forward to next years!! There are two very good reasons: 1st. we needed to have the drive mentioned and 2nd. it came right after the Spring Production in the real life of our school year. So here are the photos of the food drive as seen through the eyes of a senior camera person. CHAMPIONS RISE TO THE OCCASION The 1987 Mustang football team again had a successful season, finishing the year with a record of 7 wins and 2 losses. The Mustangs were champions of the Rum River Red Division in 1987, making it 4 straight years they have won or shared the Division title. The team was led by 13 dedicated seniors who provided excellent leadership and will be missed in 1988. This years Junior and Sophomore classes are blessed with some talent and did gain considerable experience in 1987 which should help them prepare to carry on the Mustang football tradition. Athletes need to dedicate themselves to their sport in order for that sport to be successful. This involves many hours of practice on cheers, chants, partner stunts, pyramids, and dancelines. After practice there are always signs, badges, and sometimes even treats yet to be made. Mora cheer- leaders have had this sort of dedication which has resulted in spirited cheerleaders with sharp mo- tions, and advanced pyramids and partner stunts. This is what makes Mora stand out from the rest, and it's what makes our cheerleaders stand APART PROM THE CROWD. EOOTBALL SQUADS Stacy Trott praying for a pin Varsity - S. Johnson, K. Sundsvold, L.
