He also battles with the relationship between his daughter. The play came under scrutiny by some, they felt that the theme was too mature for a high school. Despite the negative feelings the five actors brought the play off to a good start, and everyone going away had the feeling that it was well done and it was liked by all. Just don't bet against us! Steve Hallstrom — Nuclear war pretty tunny, huh? Are we ready for success? , i GRADUATION r- j T __ _ i We. as the class of 86. started out as a reckoning force in 1981 As we began our slow climb to the top. we saw many changes in our surroundings as well as in ourselves. As seventh graders, some of our main concerns were how to get through the day without failing a test or. getting stepped on or run over by the senior high. However, we managed to survive to eighth grade Again, an unseen force showed us how to make it to our freshman year. It was at this time that changes began to show up. New tricks like how-to-get-home-at-two- in-the-mornmg and find a perfectly logical excuse for it or. explaining to your teacher just how that social paper pulled a Houdim and vanished Soon these excuses became well practiced lines, more practiced than any spring production playlines. The year passed, and our passage to senior high marked many more new challenges to us, and a few more aspirin for our teachers Undoubtedly our sophomore year was one of the most memorable for us. For the most part, it was the best of times, more freedom, more respect, not getting pushed, and. of course, our drivers licenses turned us loose on the drag Then, onemaht in late January, a car accident took the life of one of our fellow classmates AH of us took our loss of her hard Yet we coped and continued onward We were wiser and realized how important each one of us really was. We became juniors, and became known with a reputation of badness never heard of before. Meetings were held because of this, and all that brought on was questions on our part Undoubtedly because of this, partying continued and flourished, even though we knew our responsibilities were increasing in number and we were getting ready for the final stage Then all at once the clouds were parted and we stood as the dominating seniors at MHS Even as I chronicle our history past and new beginnings. I wonder what the future holds in store tor us Regardless of the outcome, no one shall forget the class of '86 We bid you farewell By: Darin Hendershot Kevin LaCombe — 'President s Welcome Mike Boster — Thoughts of a Senior ♦ 4 AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP $200 - Karen Hohn For a senior m the too third of the class who has been involved m community service ANN LAKE SPORTSMEN S CLUB SCHOLARSHIP $150- Jason Sandberg To a senior who plans to follow a career m the field of natural resources BROOK PARK LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP $200 - Danell Tatro To seniors who have a Brook Park address for a student attending an accredited college or vocational school OALA BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN S SCHOLARSHIP $250 - Oaneii Tatro For a sen o' g r gomg to a college or university n Minnesota and shows professional oromise and evidence of service to the district GENE S STUDIO SCHOLARSHIP $250 - Deanna Gotten For a $en«' who plans to attend a vocational school and who olans to take a pnotography o' an-related course GILBERTSON SCHOLARSHIP $100- Deanna Gotschall Fo' a sen io' planning to pursue studies in the arts GLADYS L JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIP $500-$1 000 - Karen Hohn For a sen o' who pia s to attend a college or a vocational school of the Protestant aith BARBARA JOHNS TONE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP $250 - Ned G'unke For a se o' who plans to attend a state vocations school GREGORY MARTENS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Variable amounts - Close-up P'ograr For a senor who -mends to enter the f -eld o agriculture MORA CIVIC CLUB SCHOLARSHIP $250 - Net!
