We were all seperated into lour groups and had the 45-15 plan. The groups were decided by where you lived. Remember the group of girls walking down the hall and two ol them saying β€˜ Noses Up Girls !? Funny, we are all good friends now. How about Mike N. and Laura A. hiding together at the 6th grade field trip at Rum River. Who knows what they were doing? Jane and Keri sliding with Richy and Steve D. Between the two buildings with just a kiss and a quick kick! Bobby R. Dressing up like a girl and had 3 guys chasing him around and Weeble asking him out. How about Mr Mattsonβ€˜s great stories about New Guinea? Totally destroying CarIL. glasses. Had to pay four dollars each for them to be replaced. Peggy and Jay bringing boxes of suckers to share with the class. Singing Early Morning Rain m Mr. Franz's class while he played the guitar. Track and Field day in 5th and 6th grade when group 2 always cried because group one would always win. And group 3’s teacher, Mr Martin β€” you guessed it β€” The Dying Cockroach! Then we moved on to the big High School, the school was a mess, we had our English classes in the New Gym and, remember throwing paper over to the next class? And, when we bought a booster flag fa our great football team to sign. How about when Ruth and Peggy had a peeping Tom underneath the outhouse while going to the bathroom. Remember Raymond? Our Varsity Team went to State Hanging out at the Paradise Theatre. Remember the scoliosis tests in the girls bathroom. Janet and Tammy quarreling in the bathroom. All those trips to the cabin with Maynaard. That great ski trip we planned to Duluth but only made it to Ouamba! The girls of the Senior Class would like to thank the administration for the great fun we had playing our Powderpuff Game??? Oh, well! (β–  t Kansas Cily, here we come The highlight of this school year for FFA was in November. Ten members attended the National FFA Convention in Kansas City. The Mora Chapter received a bronze certificate at the national level for Iheir work in the Building Our American Community program. The Mora program included the petunia beds along the highways in town, helping with the city boulevard tree planing, evergreen plantings at the airport and numerous activities involving cooperation with other community groups. One of our main projects recently was our Corn-for Susie Drive β€” collecting corn from farmers and picking corn. The sale results went to Camp Courage for Susie Myers of rural Mora. Dale Bankers, the leader of this project, reports that we have past our goal of $ 1,000. FFA contests are keeping many members busy, with high hopes for the Forestry, Crops, Poultry, Meats and Dairy Products groups. Daily work is involved during Iheir Independent Study hour, along with one night session per week. The Dairy Judging Team and General Livestock are already in the state contest in April. Both teams placed first in the District contest in December in St. Paul. We are hoping for at least three more first place finishes. Although a lot of work, the FFA does include the 'fun' outings as well scavenger hunt at the initiation, skiing at Wild Mountain, sliding at Hogs-back and roller skating at Rush City. I'd Ske to let you that I’ve had a wonderful time here. But remember β€” you don't have more fun than what you make it to be. I’m not homesick and everyone has been realy sweet tome. I expected it lobe more different here from Mora, Sweden Of course, the American habits and customs are different from what I’m used to, but I was very surprised to discover that the people basicaky are the same. I ttmk being away from old friends and what you are used to is good fa you. We attended the Rum River Conference Festival and competed in District 18 competition in Onamia. We'll miss our graduating seniors: Mike, The mime, Scott, whose gift of laughter brought a smile to all of our faces and Audrey, whose determination and positive attitude made this speech season one of the best ever. Our talented Junior High students and our returning speech veterans make the future years look very promising! 36 s T),lie production β€” ddiitlie Spirit IVini 1st in -d)iitrict Refused to be treated so rudely1 THE GANGS ALL HERE' Yes Sr! It was unfortunate that some people couldn't finish the season. One of the strongest players. Peggy Black, was hurt halfway through the season, too. But. a couple of highlights during the season were going 3 games against Princeton and St. Franes. Also, out of an 8 team tournament at North Branch. Mora played in the consolation round and played a total of 12 games during the day. The overall record for the season was 8 wins-7 losses and. in the conference. Mora was sixth out of nine teams with a 4 wm-5 loss record. The All-Conference selection and top server and hitter for the season was junior Angela Johnstone. Honorable Mention went to senior Kim Burk. Most valuable was Jean Krummel. Most Improved went to junior Julie Sunderman. Enthusiasm Spirit Award went to senior Becky Lanoue.
