Variety Strong Defensive Team Dan Rowland was selected to represent Mora on the Rum River All-Conference team. Dan, playing the fullback position, gained a total of 365 yards in 126 carries, giving him an overall average of 2. 19 yards a carry. On defense, Dan played center linebacker and averaged six tackles per game. The Mora team selected Charles Priebe, a senior guard, as their most valuable player of the year. The team felt Charles played a hard hitting defensive center guard position, and on account of his efforts many of Mora's successful runs were due to his offensive blocking opening many holes in the line. Eleven seniors played their final high school game against Ogilvie on October 27. Their determination and efforts gave great support to our football team. These sen- iors are: Mark Mattson, Charles Fuchs, Randy Sjolander, Ricky Mattson, Mike Akkerman, Vernon Rodenborg, Dan Hallstrom, Jerry Rypkema, and Dan Rowland. The leadership and enthusiam of the players showed their supporters that al- though they may have finished next to last in the conference standings, they statisti- cally ended up near the top. 29
