DEDICATION MR. CLAYTON HIGHUM We, the MUSTANG STAFF of 1959, dedicate this yearbook to our adviser, Mr. Clayton Hig- hum. Though Mr. Highum has been on our school faculty for only three years, he has added much to our lives. He has been the ad- viser for the MUSTANG for two years and has been a friend to each one of us. So we take this opportunity to express our ap- preciation for his efforts and help in these past years. FOREWORD The yearbook staff sincerely hopes that this yearbook will bring back memories as you leaf through its pages. In years to come this MUSTANG will become even dearer to you as you look back on the year it portrays. 2 CALENDAR School oper.i First : :b.:ll game--Pine City Lyceum- ;obiam Coi 'nano:.- -Bonfire--Queen--Sandra Mattson; King--Tom Davis Homecoming Garre--Princeton, Won! It has taken a lot of hard work and time by all of the staff members to produce this yearbook. Assignments were given to various individuals, hence cooperation was a necessity if the three deadlines were to be met. The position of Co-Editors-in-Chief was filled by Rosalee Thomas and LeRoyce Hohn. Mr. Highum served as advisor for the second year. From one who has observed so m any start their climb, let me say--lift your eyes to the vision of the future and follow the star. Into the years its light will cast its ray and lead you on. Sometimes it w ill lead you to distant lands, by laughing rills, at times through pain, but always to hills that are bright again. And so. through the years, follow your star. Its light will lead you all the way, from night to dawn. Superintendent Merrol Larson SCHOOL BOARD ROW 1: Clinton Grimm, Leo Anderman, Victor Frykman. The Seniors were excused to use the day in whatever way they wanted. We met at the high school and left soon after the regular school day session began. Pattison Park, Taylors Falls, Duluth, and the Twin City area seemed to be the most popular places to the seniors that day. 41 THE FORTUNE-TELLER 42 Mr. Highum Miss Seffens and the Make-Up Crew OPERETTA SNAPS 43 GRADUATION Dell ROW 1: Dick Munter, Joe Gries, Jerome Carlson. Larry Wallace was the student and only coach of the golf team. Not only was he the coach but he represented our school in the regional golf tournament. Janie Lutz was a familiar figure on the basketball court as she was our A team mascot. Carl Wild excelled in the area of wrestling and went to the State Tournament as our representative. Dick Longworth and Benji Kraweicki were the only two players to place as All-Conference Players in both basket- ball and football. The senior football players are to be congratulated for making this year's football record the best we've had.
