DONALD IVIAURITSON PATRICIA BERGLAND DOROTHY JEFFERSON CALVIN ANDERSON MR. LYLE LIMOND President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Adviser JUNIUR CLASS HISTURY This is station CHO-KIO, the voice of The juniors. According to Confuscius iWebsters' unabridgedi the word junior means inferior or less advanced. This doesn't happen to be true in The case of the juniors of 1940, shown by the progress They have made. Starting over The air early in the fall of 1939,the juniors had a busy and exciting year. They were very well represented in debate, journalism, declamation, dramatics, chorus, band, orchestra, and sports. 1Bethel Fritch won honors in declamation and the Inter-Society play, The Enemy. Others taking major roles in The play were Lowell Newton, Warren Tang, and Donald Prindle. In the operetta, Rose of the Danube, the juniors were also well represented, one of The leads being played by Donald Prin- dle. Lloyd Brendin, Collins Olmstead, Lyle Pitsenbarger, Paul Hanson, and Norman Erickson, repre- sented the juniors on the basketball team. Football letters were won by Norman Erickson, Lloyd Brenden, Collins Olmstead, David Panchott, Willard Kuehl, Orville Olson, Lowell Newton, and Chris Kondas. Olmstead and Panchott were elected co-captains ofthe 1941 grid team. Junior council members on the girls lnter-Nossociety were Doris Grinaker, Dorothy Jefferson, Dorothy Johnshoy, Bettylou Zuehlsdorff, Ruth Berg, and Lois Perske. Serving on the G. A. A. Board was Lillah Olson and Doris Grinaker. Junior library assistants were Edith LaPash, Lillah Olson, and Dorothy Jefferson. Lloyd Brenden, drum section, Bill Christianson, cornet, and Donald Prindle, violin, are worthy of praise for their meritorious work in band and orchestra. Class officers elected at the beginning of the year are: Donald Mauritson, president, Patricia Bergland, vice-president, Dorothy Jefferson, secretary, and Calvin Anderson, treasurer. The class adviser is Mr. Lyle Limond. With all the qualities necessary for leadership, people are looking forward to great accomplishment by the seniors of 1941. 122.1
