Not only is it more far-reaching in its effects on citizenship but it also has more capital invested in it than any of our industries. Our school system is controlled by the Board of Education consisting of six members with the Superintendent of Schools as the manager. Their duties are manyg among which is the election of teachers, the fixing of salaries, the construction and care of buildings, the purchasing and installation of modern equipment necessary for the best edu- cational work. For membership on the board of education there are many requirements. Some of these are: They must be good business men of line character, they must have broad sympathies and an understanding of needs of modern education. Our board is composed of such men who give freely of their time and efforts to efficiently manage the Moorhead schools. We. the Senior Class, realize the importance of the work done by the board of education and want to express our appreciation of what they have done for us.
