CLASS. HISTORY For ages, it seems, we have been looking forward to the time when our school days would be recorded in the history of Mooreville School. We shall always cherish fondly the memories of our old school days, for there are things stamped in our minds that time cannot erase. Most of us started to school in 1936. We have eleven members who started at Mooreville--Onis Mitchell, Lenore Burcham, Dot West- moreland, Burma Price, June Umfress, Bobbie Leslie, .Timmy Hussey, Varnell Caygle, Ernest Bedford, Lowery Tackett, and Odie Vee White. There were two beginner classes with Mrs. Hare and Mrs. Baker as teachers. Miss Ruth Hussey was our first grade teacher and Mrs. Ethel Lind- ley taught us in second grade. Mrs. Tennie Elliott taught the third grade. A great misfortune happened that year--the school house burned and we had to have school in the Methodist Church. Mrs. Aaron Morgan was our fourth grade teacher and we went on to fifth grade with Mrs. Ben Stalling and Mr. .Tames Cates as teachers. From there, Mrs. Corrine Riley took us through sixth grade. Our seventh grade year was a new experience, for we then moved to the study hall. The eighth year was also important to us because we were awarded our Grammer School certificates by Mr. Aaron Morgan. As we entered high school with many members lost and others gained in the class, Mr. R. E. Whiteside sponsored us as freshmen,, and Mrs. Aaron Morgan sponsored our sophomore class. The Junior year brought happiness to all of us because we received our class rings. Thatwas also the year of our Junior-Senior banquet at Jeff-Davis Hotel which was sponsored by Miss Ruth Martin. Before we could realize it, we were Seniors. We started with nine- teen members and still have all of them. Under the direction of our sponsor, Mrs. Box, we presented our senior play, Little Miss Somebody. We leave behind us our sincere hope and best wishes as we pull the curtain and leave the stage to our underclassmen.
