The junior class places second at Home- coming but first at Martinsville's Fall Foliage Festival. 4. Charlie Brown rides proudly on the class of '78 float. 5. The freshman class chooses a NASA theme for float competition. 6. The MHS marching band performs its award- winning show.

Junior win.S500 f fn!! H455 Homecoming floats continued to leave impressive marks even after Homecoming as three classes entered their creations in the Martinsville Fall Foliage Festival Parade. Everyone certainly knew we were there when the juniors, sophomores, and seniors took first, second, and third places respectively winning a total of S900 in prize money. The band also left its mark all over the state, competing in the state marching contest and receiving the distinction of a top ten band. Whether we were a part of the flag and rifle corps, a member of the band, or just an MHS band booster we all believed that we were here and thus a part of the success. 1 2 l

Mr. Richard Newcomer is a member of the business community who donates his time to the school as a member of the corporation board for building trades. 3. Police Chief Harold Martin talks to elementary students about safety. 4. Mrs. Peggy Weber teaches the junior Miss contestants steps for a group performance. 5. Mooresville's junior Miss Mary Neitzel performs her talent for the pageant.
