Sing, sing a song. Yellow and blue make green. and zd ! u±ic Anyone who ever heard music echoing through the air late some nights knew it was the Mooresville Blue Devil Band practicing. The band accomplished much over the last year. It captured first place hon- ors of Class C” in the Myrtle Beach Sun Fun Festival. Members partici- pated in the Tournament of Champi- ons in Statesville and a marching competition in Richmond County. Christmas and Spring concerts were also given by the band. The chorus, too, worked very hard. Members competed in All- County. All-State. Mars Hill and Hon- ors chorus and attended a clinic in Statesville. The chorus also gave a Christmas concert. Art I and II courses were offered for the creative students who were always ready to help decorate M.H.S. by using their talents. Stu- dents. under Mrs. Pope's guidance, took part in area competition with many successfully garnering hon- ors. The great Pep Band. 24

The doors to the trade and business world were opened to Mooresville High School stu- dents by courses such as Typing I and II, Short- hand. Accounting I and II and General Business. These prepared those students who were plan- ning a career in business fields for life after grad- uation. 25 I wonder if she knows I'm using one finger.
