Being principal of a school with approximately 500 students can be tough work, but Mr. Larry Edwards along with Mr. June Reece, assistant principal, did an outstanding job. The other office personnel. Mrs. Jane Almond and Miss Kay Bowles, also worked hard to improve our school. They kept the attendance, school records, and all communications coming to and from the office. Mrs. Zora Weisbecker and Mrs. Mary Lou Lawson aided students in career and college opportuni- ties. O. c J-drnLniibiation The members of the Board of Education, chaired by Mr. Emmett E. Cruse, were Mr. George W. Brawley, Jr. Vice- Chairman; Mr. Frank P. Fields; Mrs. Martha D. West; Mrs. Beth N. Jefford; and Mr. William S. Neel, School Attorney. Working together with Dr. William L. Brown, Superintend- ent of Mooresville City Schools, they discussed and set- tled issues that arose in our school system. Each had an avid interest in the students and a devotion to quality edu- cation. Dr. Brown, responsible for directing the entire system, visited our school frequently. He spoke casually with the teachers and students to see that operations ran smoothly. His support of our work was appreciated by all; and on each occasion, he was sincerely welcomed. Dr. William L. Brown. Superintendent H3oazd of Sciucation Mr. George W. Brawley. Jr. — Vice-Chairman; Mrs. Beth N. Jefford; Mrs. Martha D. West; Mr. Emmett E. Cruse. Jr. — Chairman; Mr. Frank P.
