FOREWORD A S SCHOOL got under way last September, we heard more and more from the radio and from the press of a real desire of other people and countries to change our nation-its ideals, form of government and way of life. And there was borne upon us a deeper sig- nificance of what this war really means to us as Ameri- cans and to the whole world. Eagerly we students of Moorestown High School accepted the challenge and set about the three-fold task of Saving, Serving, and Conserving. In this, the 1945 Yearbook, we have tried to pre- serve the story of our part in the first full school year ofthe war. 6

Visions of a glad tomorrow when wars shall cease and our young men shall be free to return to their homes to live their lives free from fear and want and persecution in all its forms, to cultivate the arts of peace according to their individual talents and inclinations, to practice a philosophy of which Love is the dominant pattern, to reconstruct their world on foundations of inter- national honor and understanding, to the end that every city and hamlet in the world may go to sleep in peace when the night shadows fall and wake to gladness in constructive work when the new day dawns.
