To help pupils to develop attitudes of tolerance, of cooperation, of respect for law and order and for properly constituted authority. 4. To help the individual toward the self-development of democratic compulsion and the volun- tary surrender of individual rights which conflict with the general good of the larger society. 5. To help pupils to approach ever more nearly the ideal of self-discipline.
