Ul'HC5 1'HO WWPFO UOIZCH Page Twenty exght THE I936 OWL JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS C A Roberts Bessie I-lowe Leonard Smtt lAdV1S6Il 1Secretaryl tPres1dentl Mrs Pnllcenton Lyda Walsh fAdv1serl KVICE Presldentl STO In the fall of 1933 we entered M T H S as a class of flfty bewlldered youngsters Desp1te the fact that we were new at the game several of our class managed to hold a place on the honor roll Another achlevement that filled us with prlde was our v1c tory 1n the glrls Lnterclass basketball tournament As sophomores we gamed a new athlete Leonard Smff and two other members Land1s Hurley and Harold Rlggs made themselves known m the sport world e feel that these boys are truly valuable contr1but1ons to the school 1n promotmg 1ts football and basketball teams Our stunt although not awarded the cup was consld ered clever by many of those present The class p1cmc at Crystal Lake was enjoyed by everyone mcludlng those who were drenched whlle engaged 1n a strateglc water fight athletes are stxll stars of both teams the class 1S represented m all extra currxcular actxvltles and we have one thlrd of the honor roll wxthm our membersh1p As the school entry III the state Wlde essay contest on The Advantages of C1t1zensh1p m the Umted States the composltlon of Margaret Ann Jackson a Jumor was chosen Our class held 1ts annual party at the home of Mrs Pxlkenton one of our co advlsers Smce ours IS the tirst class to present the stunt show ln the new gym audxtorlum we are very pleased that It was so successful 1n every deta11 well produced stunts splen dld dance mus1c and unlque tea room We also have the dlSt1l'lCtlOIl of entertammg at the Iirst Junlor Semor Banquet to be held U1 the new gym VVe w1sh to express deep gratxtude for the fine example of the seniors and hope to malntaln thelr stand ards Helen Massock 37 . , , , .
