2 - x fwf ,T Miss H. Winifred King, health and physical education teacher, was a member of the Class of 1936. She thinks of the constant changes in the school system and recalls her student days in the Carnot Building with no cafeteria, no library, a gym that doubled as an auditorium and visa versa, no homemaking rooms and no science labs',. She remem- bers, too, that no thirty-six people ever graduated with more pride in their school and their achievements than did that Class of 1936. Mr. Wayne Goss, editor of the 1936 Flame, returned to his Alma Mater to teach social studies. After time out to serve in World Wat II, he resumed his teaching duties and has since added the di- rection of all audio and visual aid materials to his responsibilities. Especially he notes the communi- ty's change from a rural to a subur- ban atmosphere and the students more worldly behavior. VT: 7 1

GRATEF UL APPRECIATIC We, the class of 1960, on behalf of the students, faculty, alumni, and all the friends of Moon Schools, want to express our sincere and grateful appreciation to Dr. ALA. Allard. It is with regret that we learn that he has announced his retirement effective at the close of the 1960 school year. For thirty-two years his has been the guiding spirit that has brought Moon Schools from the three grade school buildings and a faculty of eighteen elementary teachers to a system housed in seven buildings with a faculty of one hundred and twenty-three and a total enrollment of twenty- seven hundred students. His wisdom and foresight have kept our schools apace with the growth that has marked education. However, it is for a greater privilege we wish to express our gratitude -the privilege of being associated with a leader who has been so imbued with the ideals of democracy that these ideals have permeated all of those who have known him through these thirty-two years of service to Moon Schools. This community cannot help but feel for years to come the good effects of these principles, which for him have been a way of life. We feel that the influence of this man, who has dedicated his life to educa- tion, will reach beyond the boundaries of our townships, for students, faculty, and associates in every walk of life must be carrying these ideals to the many parts of the world where service and occupations have called them. Dr. Allard, may you have many years to enjoy the rewards you so richly deserve.
