The five members ' Elise Galloway, Isabel Kramer, Sam Kelley, Nancy 1 McCormick and Rae Jean Sprigle who were elected to membership in February, 1952 began their work during the summer when under the guidance of their sponsor, Miss Elsie Braun. Theycompiled a handbook which was issued to each student early in the school term. A second project was the writing ofa letter which contained school news and which was duplicated and sent to alumni mem- bers inthe armed services and incolleges. They also made a backdrop with the society emblem to be used in induction ceremonies. Several social affairs were in- cluded in the calendar of activities . The crowning event was the tapping service on Feb- ruary IZ when the five old members inducted nine fellow seniors and five juniors chosen by faculty vote on the bases ofcharacter, service, leadership and scholar- ship.
