N . f , ' I , L SEASON HE Moon Tigers found competition in section 22 to be plenty rugged as their opponents ' bounced them around most of the season. However, near the end ofthe season the Tigers got out of their slump with two consecutive victories which were enough to move them up out of the cellar into seventh place. Nevertheless, the varsity often times supplied much excitement as they battled their opponents to the final buzzer only to lose by a slim margin. SENIORS HE senior players dreamed of winning most of their games but found difficulty along the way. However these boys playing their last season for Moon gave a good accounting of themselves. Andy Balogh, Moon's scoring star, paced the Tigers with 289 points. Jim Mushalansky scored 204 points while Bill Campbell came a close third with 203 points. Moon's play maker, Sam Kelley, hit for 161 while the other seniors, Alfred Holst and Dean Whiteman added 71 and 15 points respectively. CHEERLEADERS F cheering had produced wins, Moon would have been a shoo- in, in both basketball and footballg for our senior cheerleaders led a squad that took second place to no wan H750 other group. With the boys, volley- ball proved very pop- ular, while the girls al- ways enjoy basketball. Both programs, headed by gym instructors Miss King and Mr. Med wid, are quite extensive with the girls taking precedence since they Gittins, Haney, Rouzer and Beh- ling. They boasted victories over Bellevue, twice, Ambridge and West View, but they also lost to Avonworth, twice, Ambridge and West View. Although Bir- mingham and Gittins were lost through graduation, Mr. Goss dreams of suitable replacements and victories in the '53 season. have no varsity competition. The boys participation is limited to those who have no part in varsity sports. Here we dream of that new gym that will provide more time and space for this popular program. l Compliments of EDDIE'S ICE CREAM BAR I 109 5th Avenue Coroopolis, Pc. ,l.
