Our junior year found us 1n a flurry preparlng for our Prom We presented Professor Schmidt igain for the enjoyment of those who had missed h1m the year before We had seven 49 ers on the football team and the B squad boasted seven players during basketball season We sent out scouts Shirley HlfkHCQS and jerry Hughes to investigate competitive territory ID the Forensic League Competitions for voice and trumpet respectively After months of preparat1on the bw nlght finally arrived We gave an elegant Prom mdeed A class picnic flnlshed our junior year Now we were on the last leg of our journey We reached our senior year What had seemed like a long journey when we first st Lrted out wis almost over Now the days rushed crazlly by as we came in sight of the tre rsure We were once large IU number but have lost quite 1 few of our passengers to other wagon trams while others have left us on the trail However along the tra1l we have added some whom we were glad to welcome We recollect the football games cheers and band flurry fso we didnt w1n any games' basketball dances the 49 ers Revue May Day and many scholastic whirl Graduation our diplomas the gold for which we sctrchcdl The nuggets will be llrger or smaller for some in proportlon to the knowledge acqu red or better still the ab1l1ty to use that knowledge Nevertheless the class of 49 wlll have shared in seeking for the gold that shapes our dest1n1es These pictures depict the clasx of 49 as they bade arewell to the Class 0 44 and now six sears later as thev rn their turn must bad adieu to Moon Hugh Our Past is a reprint rom the 1944 Flame showing Catherine Wiener pres: d nt 0 the class 0 44 leaving Moon Hugh as Shirley and Leonard umertam and rather nghtened enter the portals Our Present shows these people leaving those same portals certain and secure OUR PRESENT CCRAOPOLIS TAXI SERVICE 943 Fourth Avenue Phone Coraopolls 430 11 .
