It was one of his last appearances at the chapel service, before he went to be with the Lord, june 14, 1947. Dr. Houghton's very appearance commanded TCSIJCCI and in- spired conlidence. There was dignity and quiet reserve in his walk among men. There was humility and simplicity in his walk with God. This was the man who felt the job of leadership at Moody Bible Institute too great a task for him and turned it over to the One who called him to that work. MBI will long benefit from the service rendered by Dr. Houghton, because his dependence rested in the Lord whom he loved and served. He lived the music that he left to us: In all my days be glorified, Lord Jesus, In all my ways guide me with Thine own eyeg just when and as Thou wilt, use me, Lord Jesus, And then for me 'tis Christ, to live or diel'

Qeehbaded to JMQ. Sewage Q .Takeda UQ! lmost as much a trade-mark at Moody Bible Institute as the Arch is the tall spare figure of Professor George S. Schuler, senior member of the music faculty. He is idcntihed by his silver-gray thatch of hair, but students also know him for his delight in encouraging and inspiring them to greater achievement in music. Those he doesn't get as music scholars, he contacts in General Chorus. Professor Schuler's interest in helping students in any way he can has endeared him to M,l the hearts of all. The twinkle in his eyes betrays a love for teasing and a real enjoyment of life. An avid tennis fan, the summer noon hours find him on the tennis court as regularly as the sun shines. Though he is almost an integral part of Insti- tute life, he also belongs to the world through his music, both secular and sacred. A Christian gen- tleman, Mr. Schuler is a rare testimony to the youthfulness that the Christian life can impart to one who lets the joy of the Lord reign in his heart. Q Q 9 4
