“Be thou an exdmples™, Unesesatcmtuc words of encouragement written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy, who was a young leader in the early Christian church. The idea expressed by the Greek word translated “example’”’ means ‘‘a figure formed bya blow” in order to make an exact impression. ‘Techn1- cally, it refers to a pattern, in conformity to which a thing must be made. In the ethical sense it refers to that which should be imi- tated. Christian leaders are the patterns for Christian living that people consciously and A. Students in training for Christian serv- ice are designing those patterns day by day, which become more firmly fixed as time goes on.
