Holding on to yesterday is the theme of the 1978 ACTA, holding on to memories that have shaped us, as a class and as individuals. The yearbook is created to help the students of Montrose, especially the seniors, to always remember yesterday, the past we shared together. Twelve years ago we began together. We came to grade school, each from different backgrounds, and eventually learned to accept and appreciate classmates as individuals. We played together, we fought together, we hated each other, we laughed together. Each of us has been shaped by all those years, friends, and classmates. By holding on to yesterday, we hold on to our dreams. Our future ambitions were thought of in school - desires created by knowledge. If at any time your fortitude to keep pushing toward your morning star ebbs, just pick up your ACTA to remember where your dream was made. It is important to keep your . ..., . ., Q X dream, not to let it slip from your grasp. Dreams are vital for tomorrow. As seniors we must realize this and face the future with strength. Memories change as we grow older. How we think of our school years in ten years will differ from how we feel now. To some of us, school might just be an institution, but in the coming years, school will be thought of as a haven, a haven of security of peace and security, shielding us from worries and fears. We must remember the past, for the past is the threshold to tomorrow. Remembering what we were might someday affect our lives. We can actually hold on to yesterday. By the gentle remembrance of friends and special moments we can grasp yesterday. Memories are sweet and the joy they produce is fine gold. The morning star is mighty - so for the future - grasp the dream, strive for the best. And hold on to yesterday. On the way to school last fall, many students saw the fire on Public Avenue which burned several buildings. 6
