The Old Leave, The New Takeover S.G.A. Officers 78-79 Joey To Alan Alan Takes Over S.G.A. Officers 79-’80 Virginia Buchanan Miss Virginia W. Buchanan arrived in Montreat during the summer of 1951 to begin her duties as Librarian at Montreat College. From that time until spring of 1979, she was part of the school, serving as Librarian until 1972, then as Assistant Dean of the College, Associate Dean, and for one year Acting Dean. It was under her guidance that the Nelson Bell Library was built, that the honor society Phi Theta Kappa was initiated on this campus, and that much of the institutional research of the College has been carried out. She has been a determined supporter of both the Christian basis for life and of academic excellence. As Miss Buchanan leaves MAC, we join in her expression of thanksgiving to God for the work that he enabled her to do at Montreat, and we wish her God speed in whatever He has for her to do in the coming years. Montreat-Anderson College is a better place because Virginia Buchanan has been here.
