Montreat's '71 soccer team was unable to do better than one win and one tie out of it’s ten game schedule. The team was hampered by the lack of returning experience and depth. But what they lacked in winning they made up for with a love for soccer and team feeling. Mr. Craig Sutherland was the coach of this year's team. Arture Acuna, Ed Balz, Terry Dover. Lakey Dowdle. Aunt Gussie springtime comes and it’s hard to know where the rain comes from, where the children go, it’s a nursery rhyme, it’s a nur- sery rhyme We have a two-fold system: we not only provide spiritual activities for students but also for those in the community. The stuff we do. does us as much good as it does for other people. Student Christian Association President, Bill Reineking “There are rewarding accomplishments, however, it's discouraging when you fail. “Up and Down experience Student Government Association President, Wayne Turner It brings the outside world into campus life.” College Union Activities Hoard President, Mickey Holoman Power To The People How beautiful we were at that awk- ward age. True, we weren’t polished for we’d not been on our own for very long. The fantasies of the young blended so well with our new-found freedom. We were open and honest, so completely in our conviction believing. We spoke of wonderful things. And now, we look back at how we’ve grown. The pattern is twisted, yet we know what has been lost, and gained. Where the subtle shift towards adulthood began can- not be said. We only know what we arc now. The collage of our loves those first years of freedom pass before our eyes. Bitter- sweet feelings make us smile as we realize the time has come to reach out for more of this life into which we have been horn. And, when the days have gone by us, and we cling to our memories we will look back to our youth. It is then that we will most poignantly remember the beauty that greeted our first steps into the world. THKSTAFF Arlisls.......................T. K nits K. KuHanks I). Oglelier B. Andrade Sports M.
