by Mrs. A. C. Holt The harps of God! How wonderjul the sound, The melodies, that in those strings abound! Only God's finger can command the tone, And we must needs be taught by Him alone. The basic note of all, be sure, is “Love”; Then follow “Joy”, and “Peace”. The angels mov Our hands across the strings at His behest. He only knows the songs that suit us best, The strings on which each one must ever play, And bids us strike the “Patience” string today; Tomorrow “Gentleness” will be the note He teaches us, and so we learn by rote The heavenly scale. Like children, practicing. We often say “I Cant” and will not sing The songs of life. Discords will then ensue, But God will power each day to us renew. If we from “Meekness” will go on to “Faith”, And thus complete the gamut of His grace. 0, may I practice ivell this scale of mine! Sing, sing, my harp, with harmonies Divine! (Revelation 15:2; Galatians 5:22-23;) All our lives “sing” either discordantly or har- moniously. If this heavenly scale is the basis for our life’s music, there will be harmony in our lives, and wherever we go; for this is God’s scale for our SONG OF LIFE . . .
