President Bashie Chastain The Student Faculty Government Association of Montreat College consists of three separate divisions: The Cabinet, composed of the above six officers, the Dean, the Assistant Dean, the House Mothers, and a representative of the Faculty; the Senate, which is composed of representatives from the various classes; and the House of Representatives, which is composed of representatives who act as monitors for each hall. The aim of the Montreat College Student Faculty Government Association is to provide a system of organization in which each student will be given the highest degree of freedom and happiness without overstepping the rights of any other. It is our ideal to build a student bedy which will attract others because of our happy days together. (28)

The Philalethian and Tritonian Literary Societies are composed of college girls. In their bi-monthly meetings interesting programs, which bring to light many hidden talents, are given by the members. The Delta Beta is a similar organization for the high school students. The members have presented such programs as Fashion Shows, Debates. Musical Programs, and Plays. Besides providing entertainment for the stu- dent body, these programs give the girls a chance to develop initiative.
