COMMERCE CLUB The purpose of the Commerce Club is to promote interest in the business world and in business subjects, to encourage a social spirit, and to become familiar with local businesses and their services. The club had an initiation party and a theatre party. The projects of the club are to take trips to various local businesses such as the I. G. A. Store, a dry cleaning establishment, a factory, and an half day trip to the Morris Store at Bluffton to view a larger business. They also will hear speeches by local business men and have short business plays. The officers are Norma Zigler president, Joretta Armstrong, secretary-treasurerg and Bob Starr, reporter. Q Q 4 o 4 .,n4n.n.u.. RAvoN DRAMATIC CLUB The purpose of the Rayon Dramatic Club is to foster interest in better dramatic productions. The club will give some one-act plays and skits and have practice in make-up. Sponsored by Miss Albertson and Miss Nelson, the club had a Christmas party and a spring party honoring the senior members. Two members, jerry Burchard and Lyle Towns, took part in the Poetry Reading contests at Muncie in Jan- uary, and four members presented a skit at the Speech Festival, April 7. The officers are Waunita Shiner, president, jerry Burchard, secretary, Don Ely, treasurer, and Phyllis Allen, program chairman. FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA The purpose of the Future Farmers of America is to develop competent, aggressive, rural and agricultural leader- ship by strengthening the confidence of farm boys and young men in themselves and in their work. The club has taken part in the following contests:Livestock-judging Contest, Dairy judging Contest, Dem- onstration Contest, F. F. A. Speech Contest, F. F. A. Essay Contest, Farm Safety Contest, Soil and Water Manage- ment Contest, and Pioneer Hybrid Corn Contest. The club was host to the Bluffton Chapter for an interclub party. The members have sponsored the following projects: all 4-H activities, the registered gilt project, garden seed sales, farm machinery repair, and scrap metal. The club motto is: Learning to do, Doing to Learn Earning to Live, Living to Serve.
