In the play a spinning wheel given to the school by Miss Sinclair was used, The main characters were Miles StandisheTom Mc- Kean, Iohn AldenwBilly Martin, Priscilla Mullins--eWanda Bantz, Prologues-Esther Bennett and Ken- neth Shannon. A Christmas party was held at the home of Miss Albertson. Games were played, gifts were ex- changed, and a delicious lunch of ice cream, cake and soft drinks was served. Before the seniors grad- uate, a party will be held to give them a real send-off when they leave the club and the school. The un- der-classmen will be in charge of this party. nom. A Good Egg was presented by the Iunior Class of '44. Iunior Clayton-Billy Martin comes home with a poor report card: therefore his parents, Dr. Clayton -Ralph Martin and Mrs. Clayton-Eva lean Sholty, make him study during his vacation: and his pal, Bumps Bicknell-Ronald Noller, thinks he is going to have a horrible vacation when he learns that his cousin, Pert Bicknell-Vera Morgan, is coming to spend a week with him. The two boys, who are always looking for a mystery to solve so that they can become heroes, are mystified when they see a hold-up along the highway outside the town. The mystery deepens when they hear Vivian Clayton-Edna McCammon and Iunior's girl friend, lean Gillespie-Betty Ann Cline, prac- ticing a murder play under the direction of their English teacher, Lorrine MaynardeMargar'et Park. Thinking that Iean's brother is the murderer, the two boys are determined to solve the mystery. The real murderer, Iimmy-Bud Cary, comes to the doctor to have his gun-shot wound treated. Laura, the maid -eEsther Bennett, who is in love with him, hides him in the Clayton home and treats his wounds. Find- ing limmy in the house and believing him to be in love with Vivian, Iunior promises to help him escape if he will forget her. The arrival of Gillespie, Iean's brother-Clayton Ford, to see the senior play, and to take Viv and lean back for a screen test, shows the boys that Jimmy is the real murderer, and they de- cide to turn him in. When Laura and timmy come downstairs to escape, Iunior gives Iimmy Q hypo- dermic containing dope, which in a few minutes makes him L1I1COr1SCiOuS. Then Iunior and Bumps turn him in. They use the reward money for their registrations in a college, Zim! The Band has been a bright spot at the ball games this year. Under the direction of Miss Sut- ton they have formed an airplane, an anchor, and interesting formations rep- resenting the different schools. Q. program. We then chose two teams with Ronald Noller, president, and Myron Whybrew, vice-president, as captains. By the end of the allotted time we had exceeded our goal of 250. Ronald's team won the contest, but much enthusi- asm was shown by both teams. After the drive several members of the Senior Class tried out for posi- tions on the staff. As soon as the staff was announced by Miss Albertson, the members chosen for each position start- ed their work. Approximately seven months were spent on the Annual. ln that time the staff members worked with a will, and each did his work efficiently. There was usually much doing in the Annual Office during the third and seventh periods. We wish to extend thanks to Miss Albertson for supervising the book, to Mr. Wilson for his financial responsibilities, and to Miss Walters for directing the art work. The staff is as follows: editor-in-chief, Eva I. Sholtyg literary editor, Donna Mason tchosen after the resignation of Paul Pordl: senior editor, Esther Bennett: athletic editor, Bud Cary: calendar editors, Mar- garet Park and Glen Schwarzkopfp snapshot editor, Myron Whybrewp joke editor, Norma Dennisg typ- ists, Betty Trump, Maxine Huffman, and Mildred Rogers: art and poster editors, Vonona Smith and Vic- tor Wellsp activities editors, Edna McCammon and Laurel Andersony poet, Edna Ionesp business man- ager, Bill Martinp advertising managers, Iunior Poulson and Everett Brandenburg, subscription manag- ers, Betty Cline and Vera Morgan.
