ln spite of the shortage of materials the senicrs managed to publish on annual. We were very successful in our annual drive, We were divided into three teams: the Air Corps, Marines, and WAVES. The Marines and Air Corps both consisted of girls, while the WAVES were the boys. We raised part of our funds from a scrap drive. The literary staff includes the editorein-chief, Margarette Hudsong literary editor, Nadine Cfetzg senior editor, Ruth Emshwillerg snapshot editor, Keith Fulton and Keith Diclcasony class poet, loan Murphyg joke editor, Mary Marineg calendar editor, Clara Hawk: athletic editor, Eugene Gerard: activities editor Cclubsl, Betty Groveg activities editor Cmusic and dramaticsl, lunuetta Townsg art editors, Roberta Kilander and Lois Hoover: typists, Mary Ellen Beetley, Alice May Rogers, and Ioan Murphy. Miss Albertson is our literary adviser, and Miss Walter, our art adviser. Those on the business staff are: Paul Wilson, business nianagery Mary lune Kessler and Beatrice Weaver, subscription managers: Fred Smith and Rolland Shadle, advertising managers. Mr. Wil, fnunczl ln addition to the projects that have been done by former Student Councils, such as locker in' spection, pep sessions, decorating the auditorium for the four-team tourney, and selling schedule pen- cils, the Council has also sponsored two other proiects this year. Through efforts of the Student Councils in the past few years a motion picture machine has been secured. Under the direction of the Student Council this year, a benefit picture was sponsored. The proceeds from this, in addition to a gift from the treasury of the Student Council, made it possible to finish paying for the motion picture machine and to provide for a free movie to be shown once each month. In order to help the service men keep in touch with the school the Student Council published a school news digest to be sent to each service man who had formerly attended school at Montpelier.
