l THE r STAFF , l The personnal of the stall' is as lollows: editor-in-chief, Diclv lxlichaelg literary editor, lVlarie Hiserg senior editor, Harold Xvoolardg athletic editor, Pauline Parlcsg calendar editor, Julia Herring activities editor, John Cromerg snapshot editor, Mallcolm Dexveesg art editors, Evelyn lclies and V ada Al- lvreyg jolie editor, lvlary Annette Riggs, class poet, Billie Crawlorclg typists, bilargaret Fishbaclc and lxfladonna Armstrong. The Senior Class ol' ,SS was very doubtful, at the opening of school, whether the publication of mlihe lndianianu would be possible this year, be- cause ol the enormous increase in the price of printing. The sponsors made out a budget, from which it was seen that the price per copy would have to be increased in order to balance the budget. Puutl would students pay more? The idea ol' increase in price was launched by members of the class in a playlet given before the students in a balcony meeting. T he idea met with approval, for the class had a very successljul subscription drive and easily reached the quota of 250. Shortly aliter the drive the staff was appointed, and Worlc began in earnest. For the next seven months the Annual Office resembled a hive of busy bees. However lxrom the chaos ol7 the early months there emerged a dummy, assembled through the combined efforts of the literary staff. By spring vacation the dummy was sent to the printer. Then the editors ol? the various departments enjoyed a much-needed rest, and the weary typists went into retirement. The major editors still had proof-reading to do, however, and the business stall was busy collecting lor advertising and subscriptions. Early in lxflay the proud stall, aljter many anxious moments, distributed the 1958 Hlndianiann to the eager student body. KGB
