Namni planned to return alone to her native land. but Ruth would not lie separated from her. Her refusal has become one of the liest lured qiiotatioiis on friendship in all literature.

The orchestra has taken an actiye part in activities this year. lt played between acts for the operetta and 'lunior Class play. lt also play- ed at Farmers Institute and music convocation. and assisted the hand in a prograni on March 7. for the purpose of securing uniforms for the band. New students in orchestra this year are .Xune Kingsolyer, Klaryaunette Riggs, Doris Fink. Franklin Retz. Bonnie Buckmaster. and Christina Cline, Miss Crain is the director. The new junior leader for the band this year is XYilliani XYard. The band has played at all the home basketball games and at the Chester Center game, there. lt also played at the blind tourney. The music department bought a new baritone horn this year. Dick Michael plays it. Mr. liucas directs the band. Page twenty-five
