The time has quite rapidly been fulfilled that your comple- tion of your high school career is at hand. You now are in the process of developing those plans that will soon lead you down the many diverse paths of your futures and your careers. As your plans continue to take form and substance, keep ever before you the spirit of the Founding Fathers of our State as, in 1777, they moved forward in the face of the Unknown, in the face of Uncertainty and along pathways untravel led, to build a home for us all. With their spirit, travel forward now, as those Green Mountain people did 200 years ago, in a renewed example of courage, seeking for freedom and believ- ing in unity. As this spirit is emblazoned on our State flag, so let it always act as a guiding beacon to you, the members of the Class of 1977. May our Green Mountain State enjoy a rein- forcement of its beckoning promise through the fine abilities and good works you can bring about. Good Luck and Godspeed. r Bruce E. Stewart Principal CLASS OF 1977 It seems as though it was only yesteryear when you were carefree Freshmen uncomplicated, unentangled, ready for any- thing. Now, four years later, as the Class of 77, you stand on the threshold of the future full of wonderment, not quite cer- tain, reticent to leave one minute, can’t wait for the year to end the next. Decisions, questions, decisions, more questions. Where do I go? What do I do? Will I be a success? Have I made the right choice? Are there any real answers? You’ve made it — you’re on your own. This phase of the maturation process is now complete We hope your years in the Montpelier schools have been a positive experience. One that will stand you in good stead as you seek answers to your questions and make your decisions wisely. Congratulations and Good Luck! Charles B. Johnson, Superintendent of Schools I sincerely hope all of you leave here with an enthusiasm for the real values of life and with an appreciation of the fact that the school and the community had provided you with a setting in which you had the opportunity to grow into healthy, productive adults, capable of making wise decisions affecting your future occupations and life styles. One of the most beautiful compensations of life is to know that one cannot sincerely try to help others without in turn helping himself. I thank each and every one of you for this opportunity. Congratulations and the very best, always. George E. Sulima Assistant Principal 8
