PROLOGUE This is it — the 1954 RECORD. It was a terifFic job and a “gosh-awful” struggle! But we made it because we knew that somewhere the story of the Class of '54 and the M. H. S. year of 1953 -1954 had to be recorded. It was hard work, but it was fun, too. If you doubt it, just take a quick peek at the features, where our collective imagination was running full speed ahead! Every word was written with the hope that it would please you because you are the subject and this is your RECORD. We feel it is worth at least a smile and a pleasant moment of reminis- cence to anyone who knows our school and has a feeling somewhere deep down for M. H. S. But enough of this. On with the show! Bob Bruce. Chandler Nims. Record Board Throughout this year the Record Board has worked hard to put out the 1954 Record. Supervised by Miss Branch and headed by Susan Lindsay, the staff has co-operated fully in order to have enter- taining features and write-ups and to fi- nance the organization. Money-making projects have included the sale of M. H. S. book covers, as well as the sale of candy bars, soft drinks, pop corn, and potato chips at the home basketball games with the Board members taking turns behind the counter. The advertising staff has also worked hard so that this year’s Record, although it is larger than any previous Record, may be available to you at no higher cost. This year, for the first time, sopho- mores were allowed to join the Record Board staff. They, with the juniors and seniors, formed the committees which produced the material for the Record.
