He attended Bowling Green State University and was a 1952 graduate. Wazzy is head of the English Department but he also teaches French and pyschology. We are using this poem to describe Mr. Wasilowski. Spend all you have for loveliness, Buy it and never count the cost. For one white singing hour of peace Count many a year of strife well lost, And for a breath of ecstasy Give all you have been or could be. V' Q 7 f i 'iz lj : K ilu D I: f, A A 3, .li l ., 7 ,, . PELIER UPSETS BEARS 22-0 After four years of defeat during the Roebuck era, Coach Carl Peirano has finally arrived. He has defeated Bryan. True, Coach Peirano has had some qood seasons, includ- inq last year's 7-2 campaign, but he has never taken the 'Williams County gridiron championship until now. Thursday niqht, Peirano guided a hopped-up team of Montpelier athletes to one of their biqqest upsets in the 38-year history of the series when the Locos turned back the Bears, 22-0. The outcome had a stunning effect on both sides' partisans. Bryan rooters, counting strong- ly on a romp, were left speech- less by the highilying Blue and White's heroics. Montpelier fans went insanely hoarse enjoying the early Christmas present. Most of the 3000-odd persons who jammed Park Stadium at Bryan to see the contest knew what was going to happen be- fore coming. After all, Bryan had mauled Delta, 58-0 while Montpelier had to scrounge an 8-0 verdict over the Panthers. It was Bryan in a song, most were sure. The question, how much? Three touchdowns? Four? How 'bout 50-0? These questions were replaced by more conservative ones as the game progressed. Can Bry- an win? Will Bryan score? The one factor which was dis- counted was spirit. Bryan coach- es knew full well that Montpel- ier usually goes higher than a kite for the Bears, but they prob- ably doubted that Pelier could take the Bears regardless. Carl Peirano, a shrewd tacti- f cian, did not show his hand. He commented Monday, following Delta, that Montpelier probably shou1dn't be on the same field as Bryan. The whole story was desire. Montpelier went to Bryan confi- dent that it could handle the Bears, a marvelous propaganda job on the part of Carl Peirano and his staff. There apparently was no doubt about it, for Montpelier never faultered. Errors were practi- cally non existent. 76 ' QE. - 1 31.511 ,Q locomotives in action.
