TOW ed Federal posfoffice. Wifh fhe growfh of building proiecfs, if is only nafural fhaf if affracf business our way, and as proof of fhis we offer fhe sfarfed consfrucfion of a lumber company: more work for more families. Besides all fhese indusfrial advan- fages, Our Town has excellenf recreafional facil- ifies. A park was consfrucfed several years ago and recenfly equipped wifh lighfs enabling our cifizens fo enjoy ifs benefifs affer nighf. If would be conservafive fo say fhafs soffball games under fhe lighfs were a success. ' Business men, professional men, boys and girls, all parfici- pafed. The minds of men shall never reach fheir zenifh, nor will fhey advance a greaf deal, if 'I'hey are nof given a means of recreafion. There was a fime in our 'rown when any progres- sive acfion was frowned upon. Now, should anyone sfumble upon a plan of consfrucfion, or possibili- fies of furfher benefifing fhe people, he need nof look long for an audience, for his plan readily finds a markef in one or several of 'rhe fine progressive unifs in fhe fown. l-lis views are carefully and ac- curafely checked for all Flaws or blemishes, and if fhey seem- feasible plans are drawn up and work is acfually begun. When any communify once gefs fhe building spirif, if is 'lime for Old Doubfing Thomas fo pack his belongings and remove him- self fo some ofher vicinify. We have our park, our grandsfand, our foofball field, our wafer soffener, our elemenfary building, our gymnasium, our greafly improved audiforium, our new posfoffice, and a new lumber company under consfrucfion. Who could wanf anyfhing more? We could and do. We've raised fhe sfand- ards of Our Town so high, fhaf before many years elapse, we will be numbered wifh fhe five fhousand group. The Cify of Monfpelierf' Sounds nice, doesn r if? Vive la Monfpelier, buf nof as a village! -James Zachrich Page 3 ELEMENTARY BUILDING'
