'74, On the 31st of October, the students of Montpelier High were saddened by the tragic death of their classmate, Larry Dayton. On the 30th, Larry and a group of kids were driving about 2 miles east of Montpelier on highway 89. The car wrecked, seriously injuring the occupants. The following morning Larry died. A memorial in remembrance of Larry was presented by the school in a Student Body Assembly. Larry was friendly to all. Those who were closest to him remember his love for hunting and the out-of-doors, as well as his interest in cars.
