Overcoming this difficulty has been one of the biggest problems. We got off to a had start this year by ordering books for a class play. and then failing to even have tryouts. This was choice ammunition for the eynies who enjoy firing such remarks as. There 1-an he no Senior play because there is no Senior class. This lac-k of c-lass spirit persisted until almost the eve of our scheduled class assembly with the result that no assembly was prepared. After a lively discussion as to whether or not we should have an assembly at all. we finally decided to do the best we could with the time and talents available. The result: a very well- received assembly and proof that the Seniors rioulrf :fo SOIIll'fl1I'I1!Q'. Following this success. the Seniors presented the rickety film. Lost Horizonsf, which greatly im- proved the health of the class treasury. Wlith the beginning of the spring thaw came the date of the Senior Ball. Fortunately. at that time we had a good class. and did we ever have a Ball! Though it was no gold mine. financially. we all feel it should be termed a success: the decorations were beautiful. the music' was heavenly. the crowd was just right. and the refreshments abundant. We Seniors look back on our last year at lVI.H.S. with a sigh of relief. a smile of amusement, and a glow of pride.

CLASSES High school life dawns on the new freshman with a gasp and a sigh as he first steps into the swing of things at our own MHS. Slowly he gains confidence through participation in intramural programs, assemblies, class parties, and just association with others. But about the time he really begins to feel at ease, he finds that it is summer vacation, and he is a sophomore. As a sophomore, his scope of activities increases. He finds courage to belong to a few clubs, talk to a few upperclassmen, and to lord it over the incoming freshmen. Then, after the usual struggle with final tests, he wonders where the year has gone. As a junior, he is an upperclassman himself. Now he really thinks he is hot stuff, or tries to make the younger students think so. The highlight of the Junior year is the Junior Prom, the big dance of the high school career. All the Jun- iors will agree that the Junior year is the hardest of all high school. Nevertheless, he still has time for the class parties, the assemblies, the clubs and organizations, the dances -all the things that help to make a real high school memory. About this time, the boys find that they are the ones on top in the athletics depart- ment, and not the 'folderv kids. Now the Senior year, the dawn of the clos- ing day of the high school career, begins. Hopes for the future begin to take definite shape. Doubts a r e many. But still it's wonderful. And then, GRADUATION! Suddenly it's all over! You,re oui, with only mem- ories, happy ones. we hope. I5
