F OREWORD The theme of the 1959 ,SOCK is Inside Seventeen Acres. Using this idea, we tried to record many of the activities in and around our school during a busy senior's seventeenth year. A11 the many, nice things which hap- pened could not be recorded but as much as possible of uinterest rto-everyone cisjiereut Ihe prtnm clasLpla55,cM21jL Day, pep rallies-everything seemed bigger and better than ever. As have the editors before us, we agreed to con- tinue the name of the YSOCK, an abbreviated form of Loyalsock, for which our annual is named. We also added more pictures in new places. In 1958-1959, Montoursville High School saw some wonderful events. The capture of the football and basketball championships in the West Branch Conference highlighted the many activities. As you read this book and travel through our Seven- teen Acres, we hope you will always remember with pleasure this very special year. THE EDITORIAL STAFF 8
