At the start of the year, mem- bers compiled and edited a high school directory which they sold in order to purchase an extra typewriter for use of the paper staff. The newspaper is a mimeographed publication on which members work during the sixth period. The purpose of the organization is to instill a desire for creative writing in the membership and to keep all persons informed of the events of the school. The organization holds a yearly dance in May, at which deserving seniors are honored. Nomina- tions for these awards are accepted in April and voted upon approximately one week prior to the dance.
