There were 32 kids who were still shy. When Mrs. Sewell called the roll for the first time there were these who answeredgRoy Bryant,John Thomas,Norman Copas,Jimmie Hayworth, Donald Williams, Bob Wright, Mary Rooze, Jerriam Vogerl, Gerald Dye, Bill Hawkins, Jerry Rooze, Shirley Shelton, Roger Sigman, Mathew Goodlin, Linda Foutch, Marlene Budreau, Martha Cadwalter, Jerry Van Schepen, Keith Mills, Carl Lemen, Carl Hawkins, Judy Gray, Judy Kerkhove, Larry Larrabee, Ronnie Cox, Carol Keller, and Bob Eller, We lost Roger Sigman, Shirley Shelton, Mathew Goodlin, and Bob Wright in the first grade. We gained Billy Rhulander, Jim Fassnacht, Larry Martin,Steve and Stella Burkle. We lost, at the end of the second year, Steve and Stella Burkle, Gerald Dye, Jerriam Vogerl, Mary Lou Rooze, and Linda Foutch. Our faithful teacher was Mrs. Moore. Now veterans of the education battlefield,we marched across the hall to Mrs. Waldrip's third grade. Soon after losing so many in the second grade, we gained some new recruits. They were Clovis Smith, Agnes Grey, Loretta Grey, and Joe Wright. We lost Martha Cadwalter. In the fourth grade Miss Plank and her pills kept us in line. We lost Joe Wright, Marlene Budreau, Jimmie Hayworth, and Larry Martin. That year we welcomed Gerry McDaniel, Ethel Patton, and Nancy Taylor to our class of '60, Under the guidance of Mrs.Sheets,we finished our grade school eduamion. She taught both fifth and sixth grades.We lost Billy Rhulander,Nancy Taylor, Donald William,Agnes Grey,and Loretta Grey. We were joined by Patty Stetler. Next came the seventh grade, and we were half way through with our education. Jimmie Wilson, Victor Dowell, Marvin Taylor, Danny Stacy, Jim Simmons, and Robert Lutz entered our class, and we didn't lose anyone, according to the school records In the eight grade we lost Danny Stacy, Jim Simmons, Jimmie Wilson, Marvin Taylor, and Roy Bryant. Mrs. Endicott was our sponsor for our first year in High School. We lost Ethel Patton, Victor Dowell, and Clovis Smith. We gained John Day and Tom Padgett. We also lived through the initiation. In the Sophomore class we had Mrs. Housman as our sponsor. She helped us in ordering our class rings and sweaters. We lost Patty Stetler and John Day in the sJunior year. Mrs. Rae was our sponsor.
