They have often been termed Maintenance Activity Afloat and have performed their duties well. When a radar repeater or a radio amplifier just does not seem to operate properly, officers and crew members go out with a loud cry for an ET. After dressing, splashing water on his face, and rubbing his eyes. an ET will appear on the scene loosening bolts and uncovering the guts of sophisticated electronic boxes.
