The Damage Controlmen are the ship's carpenters and fire fighters. They run a modern woodworking shop, do all the ship's carpentry and main- tain the five repair lockers which cont- arn firefighting and NBC warfare equip- ment. They also stand sounding, sec- urity, and DC Central watches. The Hull Technicians are the ship's plumbers and shipfitters. They have a modern welding, sheet-metal, and pipe- fitting shop.
