The Champs Are Rewarded Senuors ALEXANDER HOWARD Rock played runnung guard He was the man who was to lead the unterference for the plays He was rather small but they say dynamute comes un small packages He was rough to beat although he dud lose three teeth un the Arthur game He was one of the boys chosen by the coaches of the area and Okaw as an outstandung player That Ipana smule ANDERSON OWEN Peaches played quar terback He also called sugnals whuch us a duffucult uob but we had the boy to do ut In the T forma tuon he was a defensuve tackler whuch was hard to stop Owen was elected by hus team mates as one of the co-captauns of the 1950 squad Wush we could laugh luke that ' BRANCH NEIL Canoe played tackle Thus was hus furst year out for football and he dud a wonderful uob He moved quute fast and was hard to stop when he got started Good natured MANUEL BOB- Bob was our all around boy Whenever there was an empty place Bob fulled ut and dud a good uob at the same tume He had trouble wuth hus leg but he was a hard runner and loved to carry the ball Bob was elected by hus team mates as one of the co captauns of the 1950 squad He was awarded the leadung ground carruer trophy from the Country Charm daury That strong sulent type ends He was small but played hard un offensuve play It was hus furst year and dud a swell uob of playung ut That blonde curly haur Junuors The uunuors provuded much of the power for our team and we are lookung forward to havung them back next year BARNES GREGORY Chuck was one of our ends and was good un receuvung passes H played muddle luneback untul a hup unuury slowed hum down for a short whule Can t say as I do and can t say as I don t ALEXANDER NOEL Creampuff played tackle He was the buggest player on the team and had the fure when he needed ut Noel had luttle trouble pushung hus man asude or pluggung up the hole un the lune Doesn t know hus own strength DAVIS RON Darts played end and tackle He could be counted on to play a plenty tough game Although he wasnt wuth us all season he played well when he was Havung a peculuar lukung for tomatoes FELTS JOHN John played guard He was one of the toughest boys to try to move out of the plays You could always depend on John to hold hus sude of the lune Oh those freckles HEATH DICK Duck was one of our guards He was one of the roughest boys for hus suze We hope he wull contunue to capably full hus posutuon next year Shy and reserved LILLY PAUL Paul was an all around lune man and also played un the backfueld He had luttle opportunuty to play thus year but he wull be a good possubuluty for the future Always havung somethung to say MEECE WAYNE Dub played some quar terback and was a well balanced player He could make the ball pump at the rught tume Hus pass won a vuctory for the Sages un the Leroy game Musucally uncluned PECK DON Don played tackle He was one of the larger boys on the team and dud a good job of fullung up the lune Don got the Country Charm trophy for beung the leadung tackler of the squad My how you have grown SEBENS FRED Fred was a transfer from Bement He played halfback and fullback and dud a fune uob of runnung He was a great help to the team despute the fact that he had a leg unuury He wastes words on no one SEYMOUR PHIL Phul played end on offen suve play and luneback and safety on defensuve play Hus long legs helped hum get down the field blocks He also was a good passer We envy those brught flashy shurts WILLIAMS FRED-Fred played wungback and was a very good runner Excelled un kuckung Thus was Fred s furst year of varsuty play but he dud a very good job Oh those Levus from Rantoul He played center and end on de fensuve play He receuved mentuon un the All Area Prep team and also on the All State Team Muschuevous Sophomores and Freshmen HEARN KENNETH Ken played end and was one of the larger members of the squad Sophomores Prude and Joy PIKE NOEL Tucker played taulback and some fullback He dud lots of runnung puntung and passung for the Sages Whuz on the dance floor SHRIVER KENNETH Ken played most of the tume un defensuve play although he dud play some fullback Hus defensuve tackle really rocked the opponents Rovung Romeo LE CRONE LARRY Larry us one of our fresh men who played hard all the tume on the fueld He played defensuve halfback to cover for passes and was one of the fastest runners on the team All around athlete ROBERTS LEONARD-Leonard was our man aqer Whenever the Sages were uru want of any thunq Leonard was always around He deserved lots of prause for keepung the boys un good shape Fast talker O I - ll 11 I T l I - II - I - 11 I I I . l . ,, . . 11 .
