Then we settled down to have a good tlme and succeeded so well that we had to stay ln almost every mght for an hour or so fTh1s was mconvement to say the least, but ue are able to count al most to exgwht vnthout burstmg 1nto blankety blanks and whatnots when ever we thlnk of ltj The very first soc1al event of course was the usual Freshle receptlon Clsnt lt a plty vte cant have It on St Patrlcks day J Anyhow, a good tlme was had by all the party breaklng up at an early hour 1Repr1nted by permlsslon of the Repub llcan Prlntmg Companvl Treadmg on thls came the Senlor Cncus, whlch was a success, of course, due to our large contrlbutlon of talented talent Then what wlth athletics oratlors tudles, money makxng and what ro, the year passed and we a am qultted the halls of learnmg for a brlef vacatlon Along came our Jumor year, Kwhxch so far has always follovsed the boph year Strange 1sn't lt But then may theory! The Cl8Ctl0h of OEICCTS was Just a but fufferent thxs year You see, slnce the Sec of War had taken su h an espec al interest ln our Montlcello boys, they had condescended to attend the CMTC and returned lmbxbed pardon me, lmbued vuth the formal mlhtarlstnc ldeas Con sequently, we dispensed with the Presl dent Vlce Presldent, etc and elected a Magor General, hls alde, and a quarter master The next lmportant event was the al leged Frosh receptlon Thls tlme we really recepted the Frosh fPo t1c llc ense, No 1077 1ssued by State Depart ment of Conservat1on J Then, durmg' football season, we Jun IOTB, mdlfferently asslsted by an under classman or so, tacked up the Okaw Val ley Football Banner 1n the Gym fWh5 vse d1dn't steal lt, any such thmg The very ldea J Frlday mght, October 19 we 8Xl'llb1f6l our thlrd Semor Cxrcus It w1ll always be remembered, smce two of us became mebrlated Cby paltakmg of alcohollc llquorsj, before the audlence too' And then there were the dancmg girls and the petlte candy sellers who greatly con trlbuted to the attractlveness of thmgs That year, we dldn t study much You see, we d1dn't need It llke other students Once m a wh1le we'd go to class and try to brush up the hlstory teacher on 1n tematlonal law or the Phys1cs teacher on our WCTQIOH of Emstem's theory, but really, It wasnt much and we shouldnt recene so much credlt for It We also played quxte an lmportant part ln the productxon of the Beacon Oh yaas, indeed' Semesters were dlspensed wxth tex cept ln a case or soy and we loafed along mth nothlng to do except wm some bas ket ball games and later a few track meets Besldes thls we were represent cd m the commerclal contests glee clubs oratxons, and what not And why not' We were the only ones of sufflenent call Then, after consldermg- previous at tempts, we proceeded to glve the Semors the best banquet ever heard of ln dear old M C H S It was dear all rlg-ht, too Why, Just to make lt better, we even pr1n'ed the menu 1n French, a hxther o vnheard of sophlstxcatlon And I am proud to say that we enterta1ned our selves royally and even a Semor or tvso enjoyed lt Then, as we always deem necessary durlng the summer months, we dJourned for the vacation Nme months are not enough for rest We mus' have at least twelve Our Semor year started the first day of school fvery unusualj and we 1m medlately declded to cast about for a good substantlal advlsor, finally choos m on the old Semor stand by Mlss Flemmg Wlth that done, we made short uork of the election of offxcers, all are orlgmal And so, we concelved the xdea of Omlttlng a 'Memor1es ' and IH stead of puttmo ln our tlme on a school paper The ldea seemed to take well ' v 1 A , n ' I V ' U Q , . . , . . , ' Y m. . .
